Elise spent the first 18 years of her life in northern California. After graduation from high school she moved with her family to Washington State and attended the University of Washington and Seattle University. She graduated from Seattle University with a BA in Rehabilitation Services. In 1982 she married her husband Doug and moved to Whidbey Island where they have raised their 5 children. She worked for ten years as a mental health therapist and social worker in hospitals in the Seattle area and Whidbey Island.
In 1990 Elise attended a Hawaiian Bodywork LomiLomi workshop and heard the 'call' to a new profession. In 1992 Elise graduated from the Brenneke School of Massage in Washington State and received her state license allowing her to open her bodywork practice.
For almost twenty years Elise has actively pursued her own personal and creative growth. She has continued with advanced studies of Lomilomi/Hawaiian Bodywork and the ancient Hawaiian healing arts as presented by her teacher. She is now an advanced Lomilomi practitioner and has been granted permission to teach this body of work.
